Dear Residents and Friends:
Hello and welcome to the official website of the Cherry City Volunteer Fire Company. The purpose of this site is to bring you, the resident and this local volunteer fire company closer together. As you navigate through the site, you will be able to see all of the wonderful things that are happening. Each of the members, whether they are active firefighters or business members all contribute a lot of there time, talent and treasure to make sure the fire company operates at peak efficiency.
Have you ever given any thought to becoming a member? You may not feel comfortable going into a burning building, but there are a lot of other jobs that need to be done at a fire scene that do not require you to enter a structure. If firefighting is not your cup of tea, then maybe you could help us out as a business member. These members help by fund raising and by maintaining the building and grounds. Don’t be afraid to call or stop by to see how you can help out.
We would like to welcome you to our annual Street Fair beginning on July 27th. There will be many games to play, food to eat, and children can ride the rides that will be set up. The Street Fair will last through the night of July 30th. We will be also selling as part of the street fair, raffle tickets for our annual raffle. Tickets can be purchased through any fireman at the station. As we move closer to the week of street fair, look for us selling tickets on Parker Street and on the island across from Hardeed in Millvale! We look forward to seeing you!
Don’t forget about our weekly bingo every Thursday evening. Early Birds begin at 7:15p.m. We are the cheapest and most fun bingo in the earea. If your getting cabin fever, why not come out and enjoy an evening of bingo with your friends.
If you have never stopped by the station, please feel free to do so at any time. Bring your children and grandchildren over to see the fire trucks. We are very proud of what be have and we look forward to being able to share that with the community.
Until next time, thank you in advance for your support and be safe!
Sincerely,
James Skalos
Chief
